Here’s how it works:

• The teams that finish in the top eight in the league, with no regard to conference affiliation, at the conclusion of the regular season automatically advance to the first round of the playoffs.
• The first round is a best-of-three series, with a 1-1-1 format.
• The Semifinals is a best-of-five series, with a 2-2-1 format.
• The Finals is a best-of-seven series, with a 2-2-1-1-1 format.
